Smile, Dear 04:07
Verse 1: Smile, Dear. The day is new The sun is shining through The clouds and beams your face With a fresh start, a clean new slate There will be challenges And we all have our own vices that Keep us from getting what we need But I won’t let them decree What I can do. Chorus: I’ll look forward to the day ahead As an opportunity instead I’ll raise the bars that I’ve set low For I’ve allowed my weaknesses to grow I’ll accept that I’m a human being And acknowledge the spirit inside me To help with the troubles I’m facing And to love others unconditionally To become a light in this dark, dark world So that others can see the giver of light Verse 2: Smile, Dear. It’s time to take hold of Your fear that breaks your mold and Throw it to the ground and Drive it out of town because Perfect love drives out all Fear which you hold near And the worries that consume your Life must be given to Your God who loves you Chorus 2: I’ll look forward to the day ahead (Smile, dear) As an opportunity instead (The day is new) I’ll raise the bars that I've set low (The sun is) For I’ve allowed my weaknesses to grow (Shining through) I’ll accept that I’m a human being (The clouds and) And acknowledge the spirit inside me (Beams your face) To help with the troubles I’m facing (With a fresh start) And to love others unconditionally (A clean new slate) To become a light in this dark, dark world So that others can see the giver of light (repeat Chorus 2) Smile, Dear.

Frank 04:13
“Frank” verse 1: I think through a lot of different thoughts in a day. Some are musings, some are wonders, but they're all interesting. Some are memories of the past where I wish I could depart. Some are dreams of the future that take me to my heart. verse 2: I think through a lot of different thoughts in a day. Some depressing, some inspiring, but they’re all interesting. Some days I think I’m in a hole where I can’t get out, But some days I’m the one that’s helping pull somebody out. chorus: I don’t talk much; I’m a good listener, But that doesn’t mean I don’t have something to say. And from here on out, I promise you through this music To let you know what’s on my mind today; Hello, my name is Frank. verse 3: I think through a lot of different thoughts in a day, And they like to take my mind to think in different ways. Sometimes they take me on a journey I do not like, But sometimes, the path is beautiful and I can see the light. verse 4: I think through a lot of different thoughts in a day, And I hope that anyone will think that they’re interesting. Sometimes I'll get a crowd to laugh at some stupid joke, And sometimes my greatest thoughts go ignored by every folk. chorus: I don’t talk much, I’m a good listener, But that doesn’t mean I don’t have something to say. From here on out, I promise you through this music To let you know what’s on my mind today; Hello, my name is Frank. ending: I listened to a lot of different music today, And I hope you’ll think this song is more than interesting.

Movin' On 05:58
“Movin’ On” verse 1: When we were together I shared happiness with you And that happiness was unmatched with anything else I would do But I admit that recently I didn’t pull my weight and you pulled yours continually So I started to pull and to try But it was too late and. I. still. don’t. know. why. chorus: So I’m sorry, I’ve said it a thousand times And you’ve forgiven me but there’s still something wrong in your eyes Yes I tried to make it all right But the chance you’ve given me is long gone and I know that I had Said it, I knew it was strong But I meant it, I knew you were wrong I guess I’m just tired, I’m sick of it all I’m movin' on. verse 2: Yes we broke up, yes we agreed But you’re taking it a lot harder than you ought to be You brought it all up About breaking up You made your plea And I agreed We both saw it coming I knew I was running But I ran back just to say I was really trying but inside I’m dying I just need to get a break chorus: So I’m sorry, I’ve said it a thousand times And you’ve forgiven me but there’s still something wrong in your eyes Yes I tried to make it all right But the chance you’ve given me is long gone and I know that I had Said it, I knew it was strong But I meant it, I knew you were wrong I guess I’m just tired, I’m sick of it all I’m movin' on. bridge: Even after all that, I still want to be friends But you’re taking it as if we might never speak again & I’m fine with you goin' to your friends to vent But don’t go posting everything about me on the Internet So once you’re done stabbing my heart with your words I’ll come talk to you, because even good friends will hurt chorus 2: So I’m sorry, I’ve said it a thousand times And you’ve forgiven me but there’s still something wrong in your eyes Yes I tried to make it all right But the chance you’ve given me is long gone and I know that I had Said it, I knew it was strong But I meant it, I knew you were wrong chorus 3: I’m done being sorry, yeah I’m wasting my time You need to change, and until next time It’s been Isak Wilson, with a story about A girl he thought he knew, but she really turned around ending: I’m movin' on I’m movin' on I’m movin' on.

If 05:20
"If" (part I): If I saw A shooting star flying Across the sky And made a wish Would you wish you had seen it? & If I played A basketball game with The all-stars that You know so well Would you be jealous? If I went Across the seven seas And brought you back An artifact Would you be impressed? & If I painted a Mona Lisa and Gave it to you Would you put it on your wall? If I planned A birthday party at Your favorite place Would you want to be invited? & If I made A million dollars and Gave some to you Would you become My friend? (part II): There was nothing I could have done for you To make you think twice about myself & All of the broken pieces of me Were caused by your constant bullying I wish that I had a time-machine To go back in time and tell little me That there’s no worth in popularity & friendships can last an eternity (part III): If I had The chance to go back and Do it again Would you give me a chance too?

Try 08:05
verse 1: The world is gonna get you down The off days seem more often then they sound You’re tired, hungry, and longing for warmth Driving down the road, looking at chorus 1: The cloudy days can only add to your dismay Nothing right seems to fall into place Your tears Mixed in with your fears Are blinding you to the light in front of you. verse 2: When you fall, you will rise again Off days are an illusion inside your head Each problem you will face is assigned a time A temporary moment chorus 2: Everything is within the grasp of your hands Nothing is impossible when in God is where you stand Your can’ts Mixed in with His cans Is the perfect combination to try again verse 3: When you rise you have to start somewhere Starting somewhere means to try again Trying ain’t a guaranteed success It’s a platform for learning from your past Trying ain’t a guaranteed success It’s a platform for learning from your past Trying ain’t a guaranteed success It’s a platform for learning from your past Trying ain’t a guaranteed success It’s a platform for learning from your past It’s a platform for doing your best chorus 3: Eventually you’ll get out of the rut Of failures that you feel inside your gut Success Is pursued at your best And attained when the rest is the rest Everything is within the grasp of your hands Nothing is impossible when in God is where you stand Your can’ts Mixed in with His cans Is the perfect combination to try again Quarters [Hidden Track]: verse 1: i need pennies and some nickels and some dimes. i need some pennies and some nickels and some dimes. i need some pennies and some nickels and some dimes. yeah, I need some pennies and some nickels and some dimes. you know that I would like some pennies and some nickels and some dimes. i need some pennies and some nickels and some dimes. i need some pennies and some nickels and some dimes. about

Isak Wilson's debut EP: "A Few Thoughts" is as incongruent as it is cohesive. Not one song sounds much like the other, yet the transitions are smooth from one song to the next. "Smile, Dear" is an easy-listening, groovy track not unlike a Jack Johnson song. It will lift your spirits and give you a manifesto for the hard days. "Frank" is softer yet deeper. It sings of a man who enters a meta-conscious state, thinking about the thoughts he has and how they affect him. "Movin' On" tells a story of a breakup. He tells it like it is, yet there's a sense of healing desired between the ex-couple. "If" is the most confusing, and arguably most beautiful, piece of the EP. It's a reflective piece about bullies, popularity, and friends. The EP ends in a similar way to how it begins, with uplifting tones. "Try" is a song that talks about failure, success, and what it means to try.

The Inevitable And Unforgettable Section Of Gratitude:
First and foremost to God: the inspiration in my music, the love of my life, and the reason for my breath. Also, he rocks my socks. :: My parents, who have given me the chance to fulfill my dreams and have encouraged me to chase them. For that I am greatly indebted to them. :: My best friends J.T. and Jack; without whom this EP may never have had a chance to see the light of day. Their constant encouragement has been all too much and yet necessary. :: My friends Maggie and Laura for giving me their time and talents. "Frank" wouldn't have been as good without the strings. :: My friend Savannah, who has also greatly encouraged me to keep on making music, and who upon my request, reluctantly gave a go at adding her voice to "Quarters". (You sounded fine!) :: My friends Shawn Vago and Jeremy Schmoel, whom have been my musical advisors and who have encouraged me to keep on making music. :: My history teacher "Mr. C-2" who let me borrow a microphone I ended up using a lot for this record (it sounds great!) :: I'd also like to thank Tyler Beaston, Daniel Spiller, Jordan Johnson, Hana Longenecker, Jordan Blackbird, Sebastian Gobat, Hugh Clinton, Summer Shores, Nate Grenko, my brothers: Luke, Brig, and Jack; Grandma and Papa, Grammie, my cousins: Paige, Megan, Katie, and Keegan, Aunt Marcy and Aunt Holly, Uncle Carl, Aunt Gia and Uncle Ron, and anyone else who has helped or encourage me to continue doing what I love to do.

And last but definitely not least, I would like to thank my Uncle John, who gave me my first electric guitar. You should know that I used it in "Movin' On" and it sounds pretty good!
